Nine Winners. More Than One African Story.

Viranova reports the winners of FAME Week Africa's 2026 Inclusive Lens Awards, presented at a ceremony on October 29, 2026 at CTICC 2 in Cape Town and hosted by Siv Ngesi. In the LGBTQIA+ categories, the winners were Sonder, Black Burns Fast, Beaulah: Queens van die Kaap Season 2 and Youngins Season 3. Black Burns Fast, a South African coming-of-age drama about Luthando, a scholarship student at a girls' boarding school, and her first love for a new classmate, won for LGBTQIA+ Representation in a Scripted Film; FAME Week Africa's own citation notes that the film centres Black queer young women and was written and directed by a young Black queer filmmaker. Nine productions won across the children's, disability and LGBTQIA+ categories.
