Ethel Waters

Ethel Waters (1896-1977) was a singer and actress who rose from Black vaudeville to Broadway, film, radio, and television. She introduced the song ‘Stormy Weather’ in 1933, earned an Academy Award nomination for Pinky, and headlined her own television program in 1939.
